Is anyone getting sporadic empty registrations?

Haven't raised a ticket yet as I'm trying to nail down the problem - but I have just discovered that dating back to mid Dec (when I went to 2.7) approx 1 in 15 of my registrations are coming in blank - Just name and e-mail nothing else.

Can't work out why - They are for different events - some PayPal - some not PayPal - when I contact the people they say they did register and got a confirmation (the generic one)... I am embarassingly contacting people today and having to ask them what event they registered for!!!!

I just plain worried right now. Anyone else had / having similar? Please check your back-end records and ensure they all have event names attached..

I don't enter any names from the back-end so that's not the issue - I haven't got the DT Reg plugin activated right now and have had a couple of blank registrations today so that's not the issue either.... Hoping I find out more on why this is happening.... My clients were already stressing over not being able to see registrant details in the confirmation mails - Now they are hearing from people have registered but aren't on the system :(

I know we are en route to greatness and perfection but these are worrying times!

Do these records come stay-alone? I had some similar problems when clicking PREV NEXT, hovewer I used to get two records (Two clones), and one of them was empty, no price and no booking number

And what about the status of your events?
is it public or private?

Hi Vostokoved,

Thanks for your Q's to help narrow this down. Here are my answers:

1) All of my events are Public events
2) In some cases there is only 1 instance of the failed registration from the person - not a duplicate. I have seen those cases of duplicates on my system (but just closed my eyes and pretended I didn't!!!!) - So I don't think there's anything consistent there causing the issue. I tried a submission going back from the confirm page and changing something - but that went through ok... so it wasn't that necessarily...

Pulling my hair out now trying to work it out - Didn't really want to raise a ticket on an ambiguous problem - but I guess I should!

I would change the status to private for a while. I was testing the component from the first beta release, and if the user is logged in you never lose the information about a sender.

Then create the ticket, and wait until the issue will be resolved.
I think it's better to make user to proceed the registrations prior the booking than asking them what event they have booked.

My project will start in 2 weeks and we are expecting hundreds of bookings per month, so this sounds a little bit scary for me...

Hi - Sorry to scare you - but best we discuss all these things as you know :D

I've been here since the first Beta's too.... Interesting times!

I heard back from of the people who made an empty registration today - Asked him to try again and it worked fine!!!! I then asked him what was different - He said...

The first time I tried to register was on the works PC. I think it is IE 6 or 7.. This evening I used my laptop at home running IE 7 or 8 i think

So maybe it's IE6 - Anyone able to test in IE6 ?!?!?!?!!! If this is the case, I think we need to acknowledge that some dinosaurs still use it and maybe DTH can put in some code to close down Reg options for IE6 users?!!!

This would explain why my missing entries are so random across all events - It may be all IE6 users (which makes sense with my '1 in 15' estimation)
