TOPIC: 2.7 release?

Wow! No release yet. Please don't say another week...

Can we get a status update?

Dear admin, can we at least have the list of the features before the official release?
There're some pieces of information here and there, but I can't have the complete picture of what we will have in the new 2.7 version.

As far as I understood it's not only "some new stuff", but almost complete renewal of the component basics.

Particularly my questions are:

1. Will we have the built-in catalog with custom fields or we will still have to use JEvents.
2. Will it have the built-in calendar component or it will still work with JEvents calendar.
3. Are there upcoming events module modifications with possibility to have other fields (especially custom fields, pictures...) in the module? (Now the module look isn't impressing. The JEvents has additional commercial module with picture and custom fields, but if 2.7 will have them too and the integration will no longer be needed, there's no point to buy JEvents Gold Plan).
4. Will it be possible to insert the pictures and description in event?
5. Recurring events feature will be implemented, won't it? (I saw somewhere).
6. Content Plugin modification (if the event is inactive the "Register button" look should be different, say "Event is closed...")

All we need now is understanding what we are waiting for, because if the future version will not have it we can plan our developments.

P.S. Other developers have beta release among the club members. Maybe we also can test it and help with bugs etc.?

• Full code re-write in full MVC structure making it much easier to get in and make your own modifications for those that want or need to. Will make the whole process of adding new features, troubleshooting, adding new payment gateways, etc much easier.
• JEvents will no longer be required!!! We left the OPTION to sync events with JEvents, but our own calendar is now included so you can run everything from DT Reg on its own.
• Repeating Events support - when using DT Register alone, you can do repeating events... like setting an event to happen every Saturday for example.
• Multiple Event Registration support - after confirming your registration, you'll be able to complete it as normal, OR add it to a cart and choose to go and register for another event... then pay for all events in one transaction.
• Frontend Event administration with full permissions structure. You can set who is able to create events, create categories, setup pay options, etc.
• All fields are managed together... no more core fields and custom fields separated.
• Assign ANY DT Register field to sync with profile fields in CB or JomSocial.
• Load an event image
• Set an event moderator
• Full written support manual
• Tons more!! Hang on... almost here!!

You'll have to balance this carefully, whenever you do release 2.7, the wait would have been so long that your customers are unlikely to respond kindly if its not working out of the box

Give us the final beta or the release candidate so that we can test it for you and perhaps speed up the release.
If not, next time you say "end of the week" kindly ensure that it is "end of the week"

UPDATE: We know you are all waiting and some are losing patience, but when you see 2.7, you'll realize how much work we've been doing and hopefully understand why it has taken so long.

We'll be releasing a Beta version to our testing team hopefully within 24 hours. We do not release beta versions to everyone. We never have. If you want to be a part of the testing team, send us an email. Responding here will not do... email us. We must be able to verify that you have an active DT Register license.

We do not expect any significant issues to arise in the final team testing. Just ironing out miscellaneous items. Outside of something major showing up, we'll hopefully be ready to release a final package to all users a couple days later.

Currently, we are putting the package together, doing test installs, and making new video tutorials. Pretty much all videos must be redone... and you'll be glad to have them so you can easily get familiar with all of the changes. Need to finish up the migration script for the package still also.
