Problems I am Having so far

• (Mltple REG)
  Paid Events Cannot be combined with Free Events
  (in that order) Checkout Process doesn't happen if Free event is 2nd - Straight to thank-you page .
  Not yet tested with 2 paid events

  Partial Payment unless with an amount in it , Skips Checkout :-
  Result : Cannot Mix NO PARTIAL PAYMENT events with PARTIAL PAYMENT events (Optional or Required)

• Editing the Fields creates errors :-
  Either Editing the field in Control Panel (ie:- Enable confirmation Field: ) or adjusting the "Used for this Event?" section in the event from anything but default Causes varying errors .

• White Page effects on edited event:-
  Once you get white page you need to completely redo a new event as broken event break the registration process even if setting back to what it was . No idea why . Quickest fix = Create again

• Tags in Group Emails :-
  Hit and miss situation this one - Sometimes work other times doesn't - If I copy an event set up for individual Registrations,then edit the new event to both or group in the "Registration Types to Allow:" section it populates the tags in the Emails

• Group Event Not creating a Joomla User account :-
  This one has since been rectified since I copied my individual Event and set it up for a group event . Still Wondering why it would not sign up though as I checked the event configs and they were identical Except for field and GROUP setting .

• PAY LATER options can not be used if PARTIAL PAYMENT is on:-
  Pay later notification ( Pay at door etc ) can not be nominated during reg with Part Pay on unless they fill in an amount in part pay field . Otherwise straight to thankyou page.

• Required Fields set to billing show * where they are not required
  When editing fields in event to show billing only, these fields are displayed in the Group reg pages ( Member Info 1 etc ) when some of them are not actually required ( As they are set to billing only )

• Setting Enable Confirmation Field: to NO:-
  If under the Control Panel Fields tab you edit the Email field
  ( Enable Confirmation Field: Yes) to No it stops Admin emails
  being sent after a user registers .
  User still receives their confirmation email .

I am impressed with ismadman's vision but hope DTH can keep the user able customization down to where the management does not become less user friendly. I appreciate limits of customization when the benefit is ease of use and ease of necessary upgrade. My fear is dth tries to make this component so customizable for the few who post to WishList that the webmaster management gets too cumbersome for those of us who appreciate a simple functional DTregister.

My other constant fear is overwhelming the continued development of this component. I understand for DTregister to keep up with the ;web ;joomla ;jomsocial and the ;15 browsers there must be a steady stream of subscribed-customers to the development. This component works great on my site.

ismadman, I have also be having A LOT of problem since I updated to 2.7.2. The "white screen" that you talk about, I get it as well when someone clicks the next step button on the registration page.

I have told the developers about this problem since they released the update through their ticketing system and through this forum and they haven't taken the time to respond. By from my experience, this has been very typical from them.

Try to register for any event - WILL NOT WORK.

I am so upset about the customer support on this. You shouldn't charge for a product if you are going to provide terrible support.

I hear ya Greg but i was not asking for any customisation . All of my list is problems "I'm" having . I have Submitted another ticket to staff with log in details for them to verify . I am "More" than happy to pay for anything if it is indeed my problem with my set-up as I am running out of time on this as my customers Sign on date is the 22nd january . And I am still yet to get it working properly . In 2 days this module will take almost $100,000 so you can see my concerns with testing every avenue I possibly need to .

All I am stating in this thread is errors I am getting if I set it up the way I need to .
I Am in no way asking for Customisation as the std version will do what we need .
That is what a forum is for by the way , To post your problems and see if any other users have experienced the problems and found a fix , thus freeing up staff to continue with their own work . And to say it works fine on your site is great . Please provide step by step instructions on your set up for me then so I can do the same ( Sarcasm )

Hi Everyone:

I relate strongly to what gregoconnor said in his post. DT Reg has become so complex a component that the desire for so many features may be overwhelming the development team. They may not want to admit it, but behind the scenes there could be burnout from the constant, relentless effort to add features and fix bugs.

I believe there are many users (perhaps a majority) who just need a good, basic event component and do not need a thousand bells and whistles in it. Then there are others whose businesses demand the detailed complexity existing now.

From my perspective it makes sense to consider creating 2 products, a basic version and an advanced one. This way, people wanting a basic tool for event management will not need to wade through endless versions and iterations of the advanced one that does everything you can imagine and then some.

I'm interested in learning others' views on this idea.

This seems to have gone off track . I am still waiting on any answers as it's still not working .
