I have created new fields and needed to reorder them. The first few items did reorder properly, but then it started to fail. On the screen, the record would be placed properly after the drag'n'drop, but if I reload the list by clicking the 'Fields' menu, they just go back where they originally were. Also a few fields just got moved to the very beginning even though I haven't moved them. Tried with Firefox and Chrome, same result. Items appear to be moved, but as soon as I reload the list, items are back where they were.
With the number of events / pricing structure and conditional fields, we're up to about 300 fields in the list.
Anyone else experienced issues with reordering fields? Any idea on what could have caused that?

Hey benspun, we've had a similar issue. We have just under 400 fields and have no problem reordering fields as long as they are in the 1-250 "slots", when all fields are shown. Anything in 250+ will not reorder. If I do try to reorder fields in the 250+ slots they always jump back to their original location. If we need to reorder something in the 250+ slots we need to move them up in the list so they are in the 1-250 slots. Not sure why and it's really really annoying.
One other observation that I've made is that reordering fields when I have the list filtered seems to cause nothing but problems. I have made it a habit to only re-order items in the field list when there is no filtering applied to the list. It can be tedious when trying to reorder a bunch of items and I need to drag them individually through hundreds of other fields but it sure saves the confusion when fields jump around and then I have to test 20 forms to make sure they are working correctly.
This post isn't a solution, just some observations and to let it be known that there are others with this issue as well.
Thanks Shootfast, that's an excellent piece of observation!
Failing reorder happened for me around record 260 out of 330. I opened a ticket with this, but nothing so far, perhaps this new info helps them get this sorted out.
But most of all it's perhaps going to help me get going with this. I was considering reordering manually directly in phpMyAdmin, but that would have been a pain. As I have unused fields I do keep for 'reuse in upcoming schedules if needed', I will just remove those and might fall under 250 fields. Hopefully that works, I'll keep this post updated if that helps anyone else.
--- ohh no! I tried to give you karma on this, but somehow I pressed the '-' and can't undo it (
Haha, I'll take that as the best negative karma I've ever received and I'll up you a positive karma in your account
Let me know if anything comes of your ticket. I'd be keen to get it fixed on my end too but it doesn't make sense for both of us to have tickets in for the same thing. nathan.dth has posted to this thread so it is obviously being watched.
