So, for anyone it may help our there, I did reduce my fields count to around 225 and was able to reorder them without a glitch.

Thanks again shootfast for pointing this out, I owe you one. I updated the ticket I had opened with this information and hopefully with this extra piece of knowledge this might get fixed.

Oh, and ahem, I restored your karma with your latest post B)

benspun, thanks and thanks :)

Unfortunately I am unable to decrease my field size with the number of events that we have running. Please let me know what becomes of your ticket. It's "working" for you now but I wouldn't say it's "fixed". If your field size grows again the problem will resurface.

I would love to find out if there is a solution to this. We can't be the only ones experiencing this problem, there must be other users that have 250+ fields as well.

Is there anyone out there reading this with 250+ fields that is not having a reordering issue? We'd love to hear from you. It would at least let us know that there is a solution of some sort.

Cheers,

Shootfast

I had this issue some time ago with a previous version with less than 200 fields (I'm using the latest version but do not currently have more than 200 fields on any sites, so have not encountered your exact issue). My workaround:

1. I'm sure you've done this one. Delete any fields you know will not be used. I had several that were similar for testing purposes, so deleted what I would not use again.
2. Move all unpublished fields to the end of the list.
3. Exit Field Creation to refresh list order any time a group of changes has been made. Or, refresh/reload the page a couple times.

shootfast wrote: We have just under 400 fields and have no problem reordering fields as long as they are in the 1-250 "slots", when all fields are shown. Anything in 250+ will not reorder. If I do try to reorder fields in the 250+ slots they always jump back to their original location. If we need to reorder something in the 250+ slots we need to move them up in the list so they are in the 1-250 slots. Not sure why and it's really really annoying.

Nathan, can you chime in here?

Is there something that those of us with 250+ fields can do to make our lives easier? Is there a php or mysql setting that will allow field reordering to work for more fields than it currently does? You must be aware of this DTRegister limitation and there must be a solution to it?

I'm sure our servers must be powerful enough to overcome this. Please instruct us how to get past it. We now have 400+ fields, this is a continual issue for us, and it gets worse every week as our number of fields grow.
