TOPIC: Registration by member/nonmember and discounts by dates

I've watched the videos and can't figure this one out. My site has an event for which there are different prices for the 2 main categories -- member and nonmember. And the price within those 2 categories depends on when they register (before 4-10; after 4-10; and on site for both categories).

What's the best way to organize this? Do I start with the most expensive price (nonmember on site) and then offer an array of discounts depending on date?

Your help would be vastly appreciated! My boss is anxious to get this resolved.

First, you could use our member discount to modify the pricing based on membership. This can be set (per event if needed) to apply to selected Joomla user group members.

Second, the 3 different pricing levels based on WHEN registration happens... this can be done automatically with the early bird discount (for first price), the base price (2nd price) then the added late fee (3rd price).

Nathan, I really appreciate your speedy reply. Please tell me where I make these changes/adjustments. Configuration? Discount codes and fees? I should be able to figure it out if you point me in the right direction.

I will need to create new user groups for members and nonmembers?

BTW, when I "practice" my registration on the website, to see how it works, it looks like it keeps adding each subsequent registration fee on top of the previous, even though I don't complete the process. Where can I change that?

OK, I have amended the fee structure as per your suggestion for members. Now I need to figure out where to add a nonmember rate. Can you point me in the right direction? Which tab do I use? Thanks again!

You should make the base pricing for the event the non-member pricing. I assume this would be non-logged in users, correct?

Then setup member discount for the appropriate users (based on Joomla user group assignment). It can be a flat $ amount or % discount... whichever applies. Then when the logged in user matches the appropriate user group, the pricing will be discounted accordingly.

We have no users identified except admins. Anyone can come to the site and sign up for the event. Is there a work-around, Nathan?

It would be nice if, when people chose their title (all but guest), it would automatically give them the member pricing. And the guest pricing would be different.

Is that possible?
