I'm in a tough dilemma and can't seem to get help.

I have an event tomorrow with over 1,200 people registered. Today I started getting a bunch of emails from people who registered using Paypal but are not showing up in DT Register. I checked our Paypal account and the payments have been received/confirmed but out of 16 payments in the last 3 hours, only 2 showed up in DT Register. I also noticed that some of the registrations that DO show up today in DT Register were actually paid yesterday, which makes me think there's a delay with some types of payment (just guessing).

I don't have six hours to wait on the phone for an answer from Paypal, but I've also been disappointed by the lack of response to tickets from the admins of this site.

My event is tomorrow and I have people screaming for tickets. Anyone had this problem before? Suggestions?

I am just curious as to what you did to get things straight at your conference...

Hi Abrender,

The only thing we could think of was to download the Paypal receipts report and begin entering them manually into the admin DT Register via Joomla backend. What a pain!

We found more than 30 missed records over a 5-hour period the day before the event when registration activity was at it's peak. My frustration was mainly caused by the fact that these people had entered their registration into DT Register BEFORE being connected to Paypal, yet they were not even showing up as Pending. I did get a message from Paypal but their response was predictable (we accepted and processed the payment okay so you need to take it up with the other guys). Tough to argue with that.

DT Register really let us down.

Incidentally, I set up a support ticket with DT Register on January 28 with the message PLEASE HELP!!!! and more than two days later, they have yet to respond.

I also find issues often and I know that these guys are doing their best... but might just be a little understaffed. I will make sure that I download all transactions and match the confirmation numbers with the invoice numbers with a table sort and see if anything is missing.

I can understand to a point that a record/set of records is getting stored in memory until a "completed" registration so that they get written all at once and so you don't have orphaned registrations. There is nothing like the guy that registers 30 times because they enter the wrong CVV over and over again and you have to deal with that... but that being said, yeah.. I think I want to deal with that so I can determine if there is an issue or if I need to call etc etc, while matching the failed Credit Card attempt with an orphaned registration. But in your case, it you were having successful payments just no record. I have 7 registrations going, and am about to start 18 more and I am a bit nervous... will have a total of 5000 people. I like the product concepts and I hope progress continues to be made. I would even consider paying for a higher level support option. When you do get a hold of someone, they are generally helpful.

Abrender, I agree, this is a great product and the admins may be trying hard but these bugs and their lack of a quick response caused us some MAJOR issues. I received a response to my ticket several days later, only to be told they'd been working on the bug for the past week! That means they were working on it while we were having all our problems, but they never told us! That just made me mad.

If you have multiple event with more than 5000 attendees, I'd certainly be prepared for a lot of manual checking and data entry. I'd prefer to stay with DT Register in the hope that they can get all these bugs fixed, but I've been instructed by my board to look for an alternative.

I experienced the same problem in that PayPal created a successful payment.

I search the database for the name / address /etc and hd no luck. However when I searched the raw data for the PayPal transaction ID I found the record even though it was not showing anywhere in the back end. So I had to manually enter the registration which is now showing up.

My fear however is that I have duplicated a record as the original while not showing up in the admin was showing in the DB raw data.
