I have a few questions below, any insight would be much appreciated.

- Is it possible to make custom fields date sensitive? (eg, shirts are only available to order until x date, after that the shirt option is not available)

- I'm assuming that when using paypal, the registration confirmation e-mail is only sent after paypal has confirmed a successful payment?

- Would it be possible to allow the conditional options to allow a text field option? (we ask if registrants have membership numbers, we don't confirm the numbers because the memberships are through a different organization and we have no way to confirm them. If they have a number they receive a small discount, it is all on the honour system, but if membership number "yes" radio button is picked, we make them put something in the conditional text field)

- conditional charging options show the amount when picked. Without adding the amount to the end of every conditional option picked (in its "title"), is it possible for an amount field to appear beside or below a conditional priced item when it is picked. (when a banquet ticket is selected, the amount, $10, appears in an amount field somewhere, either immediately or on the summary screen before they get sent to PayPal. This would visually show the client all extra costs in a standard location (right side of the screen) and make it easier to see all the add-ons and their applicable costs, not just the main total.)

Thanks again for any information you can provide.

John

Hello, please see answers below...

- Is it possible to make custom fields date sensitive? (eg, shirts are only available to order until x date, after that the shirt option is not available)

No, you can't do this. You can make custom fields display conditional on selections of other custom fields... but not based on the current date.

- I'm assuming that when using paypal, the registration confirmation e-mail is only sent after paypal has confirmed a successful payment?

Correct. This is done using PayPal IPN.

- Would it be possible to allow the conditional options to allow a text field option?

Yes, you can have any custom field type (including text fields) display based on the selection of another field of type radio button, checkbox or dropdown. So the user selects YES, I am a member. Then a text field shows to enter their number.

- conditional charging options show the amount when picked. Without adding the amount to the end of every conditional option picked (in its "title"), is it possible for an amount field to appear beside or below a conditional priced item when it is picked.

We would recommend putting prices in the actual options text... so it is clear to users. After selecting an option, no price dynamically shows. On the final confirmation page (prior to going to PayPal), the user will see all options chosen and the price to be paid. All custom field additions are shown together as added cost.

As a side note, we'll be releasing a large new package 2.7 around September. One of the great changes in that upcoming package is a dynamic pricing display during registration. You can use it now as-is then upgrade once the newer version becomes available. You get free updates for one year :)

Thanks for the quick reply. A couple other questions, is it possible to have the members from a group registration show up in the Records list as an individual?
Essentially using the Group sign-up for signing up multiple "individuals".

Instead of having one person being assigned a record number and having members associated with them, each member would be assigned their own record number and then their name would show up in the records list as an individual.

eg. If I signed up myself and 3 other group members, there would be 4 records created not just 1

It would create a much cleaner export list with all the names showing up in one location, not tagged onto the end of the sheet.

When looking at the Attendees list on the front end, do group members show up, or only the member that signed them up? As an example, I sign up a group with 4 people, does the Attendees list list all 4 people, or only me?

Thanks,

Shayne

Group members will not list along with individual registrants in the backend... and the ID / Confirmation Number for a record is for the overall registration... not each member of the group.

Our CSV export does not just tag the group members at the end of the page. The older versions of DT Register did that, but that's been a while back. Group members show in the same columns now as individual members in the export file.

The attendees list has the option of enabling a group expansion icon... so you can click a + icon and have it expand to show the members of that group. Thanks.

Thanks again for the quick response. Most of my questions have arisen after watching the videos in the support section (the "CSV Export Tool" video for example shows what you're referring to as the "older versions of DT Register" file as it's example).

Just wondering if it may be an option in the future (2.7?) to show group members as individuals in the attendees list? My thought would, I guess, be using the "Group" sign-up as a "cart" (for lack of better words), enabling someone to sign up multiple individuals with one payment transaction, but have them show up as individuals in the confirmation list, not as part of a "Group".

Is it also possible to change the text on the Attendees/Register buttons?

Thanks again, sorry for asking questions that may have been asked before. I have looked through most of the forums and tried not to duplicate too many questions.

You're right... that video is probably an older one. Need to fix that :)

The text on the buttons can't be changed as it is part of the image. However, the DT Reg package includes blank button images so you can make your own version if you want.

The upcoming 2.7 DOES add the ability to do multiple registrations in one transaction. So you could just do individual registrations, but do the process for each "member", then do one payment at the end. Thanks.
