TOPIC: [SOLVED] Thanks Email tags not populating with data

I have two issues with tags contained in the “Thanks Email” (have not tested/used tags in other email types): missing fields and inconsistent dates.

This body:

Your reservation for [EVENT_NAME] on [EVENT_DATE] is confirmed under number [CONFIRM_NUM].

[GROUP_CUSTOM_FIELDS]

This is an outdoor event, it will be dark, and you will be shooting paintballs at our zombie actors. You should wear clothing and closed-toe shoes that you don't mind getting dirty.

Please present this email at check-in/registration about 20 minute before your show is scheduled to begin:

Our entrance is a dark dirt road. It is a bit hard to see and will come up on you fast - please be careful as Poinciana Blvd has a lot of traffic. There will be lighted signs on either side of our entrance.

I am a bit confused as this says this is a confirmation for Friday Sept 25 @ 9pm and in the subject line it says it is a confirmation for Saturday Sept 26 @ 9pm.

I want to make sure it is for Saturday Sept 26 @ 9pm. Please re-confirm that it is for Sat Sept 26 @ 9pm.

xpxdth - this was fixed on your site as noted in your ticket. By the way, please do not post in the forum AND a support ticket. We have enough work as it is... don't need to answer things twice.

For others, the DT Reg package was updated with this fix today.

This started happening again for us after updating to 2.5.7b.

OK, this is very interesting. I previously tested with a free event and just now confirmed with that event that the email tags work fine. However, paid events that go through PayPal are sending out thanks email with no tag substitutions.

We are at 2.5.7b and are having the same problem of tags not populating, only with PayPal transactions. In addition we get a message: "SMTP Error! The following recipients failed:" with no recipients listed. Actually the first email address for the notification email gets a perfectly formatted email, the second notification email gets one with empty tags, and one with all of the info. The registrant gets an email with all of the tags showing (example: Event Name: [EVENT_NAME]).

Is there a fix for this?

Anyone still having this issue simply needs to upgrade to 2.5.8. It was resolved as a part of that release. You should always upgrade when new releases are put out. Unfortunately, the 2.5.7 version had a handful of annoying bugs such as this one. They have been dealt with though.
