If you get the error message posted in the original post, that is not an error... it means you are using the wrong file
The download package has \"UNZIP\" in the filename. If you try to install that file, it will not work. First, unzip the package. Inside you will find a readme txt file with further help and instruction. One of the other files will be the actual component installation file.
[update]
I unpacked the zip file in the /tmp/ directory and attempted to install from directory. This resulted in an error message: Component Install: Failed to create directory.: \"/home/xxxxxx/public_html/components/com_dtregister\". I have chmodded the components directory to 777.
I have ensured safe mode is off. I have chmodded the dtregister install directory within /tmp/ to 777. What other options are there for me to try?
Thanks!

I\'m receiving this error upon trying to install the latest version (2.3.5). I have unzipped the folder that says UNZIP. I have selected the appropriate com_dtregister2_3_5.zip file to upload and install. Alternatively, I have uploaded the zip file and attempted to install from directory. I am receiving the \"could not find a valid XML setup file in the package\" error. I did not receive this when I installed an earlier version (2.3.2).
OkHIMA - the install package is fine or trust me, we would have heard about it before now
Check your System Info area and make sure all of the appropriate directories are writable. If so and if you know you have the right file, open a support ticket with admin access and we\'ll take a look.
