Hi,

I've upgraded to 2.7.2e from 2.6.8c and created repeating events without using JSync.

Everything looks good. I've got email addresses configured in the "Configuration" tab.

I login as a user and register for the event. I go slowly and make sure every page loads (and fees are calculated) before proceeding. I choose a "Pay Later" option, get the little blue check mark, then hit Next.

I get the screen asking if I'd like to sign up for another event. I say no (though I've also said yes, added a second event) then click Check Out.

I get the following:
Could not instantiate mail function.

No valid database connection You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 1 SQL=select * from jos_dtregister_fee where user_id=
No valid database connection You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 1 SQL=select * from jos_dtregister_group_member where groupUserId =
No valid database connection You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 1 SQL=select * from jos_dtregister_user_field_values where user_id =

Then my custom greeting for new registrants.

I get a blank email sent to me with no subject. The user has not signed up for the event/session.

Please help. I have an event in 17 hours (and then 18 hours). :!:

soccerbum - just answered your ticket... and just like anyone that still has this error, it is a setup problem. Here's what I posted in your ticket:

Go to Configuration -> Emails. Then check the Admin notification email. It's blank! You need to configure this email AND subject. The warning you get is because it's trying to send that email and there's nothing there.

Hi dthadmin,

Adding the Admin mail stuff solved getting blank emails -- I now get all the details I configure (Thanks!) -- but the problem of getting the "Could not Instantiate Mail Function" popping up after picking the payment method (and receiving no registration for my event) still happens.

Details have been added in the ticket.

Heya dthadmin,

Any idea on this? My next event(s) start in about 18 hours and I'd love to have signups available for at least 3 hours prior to the event.

Thanks!

The only thing I have ever had a problem with this
( Could Not Instantiate Mail Function )
after adding the email address to the config/email ( Which is Compulsory )
If I didnt publish at least the FIRST NAME field OR the EMAIL field I would get that error
Make sure both are published/ Enabled or whatever
BOTH are required for dt reg to work as its supposed to
I had the same prob but DHTadmin put me straight on what was COMPULSORY
