TOPIC: auto register as user when registering for a program

It would be great if dtregister could automatically (but optionally for the registrant) register new people as a user at the same time so that it could just take one process to do both.

I agree, this would be a huge help. This would be a huge help and make the user experience much better. Now when someone registers for a public event a Joomla account is not setup so there is no way for them to login and see their User Panel and make another payment on the event because they have no login to Joomla. We could force them to create and account first before they register, but that is a pretty bad user experience. A lot of people don't understand the difference between registering with the site and registering for the event...it is confusing.

I have tons of Users that register when they are not logged in. At least a "login-field" in the registration-process where it says "if you have an account, please put in here your username/password" would be a good first step.

Also I would appreciate a chance to later "connect" a user with a registration.

I agree with daniel....we need to look at this from the users, final users point of view...it is not their job to fit into our parameters...we need to make it clear and logical. To us it important that registration information is shared, all the way across the board...from joomla, to registration, to newsletter. Frankly we are looking at the link of jcontact, which will subscribe to icontact, a commercial email newsletter manager because we want more than acajoom. More services, spam control, etc.

I noticed some time ago this was being planned. Is it coming?

As stated in multiple other threads... this is not yet available. We know it needs done. Sorry, but we don't need continual threads and comments about it. Anyone can see that DT Register is a highly active component with new features added continuously. Everyone wants their most important feature added TODAY... we can't do everybody's wish list TODAY.

We are actually working on the user integration right now and will have it very soon.

A little suggestion:
Why not taking an extension like "Uservoice", so all users see which features are comming and are already mentioned, it prevents the doubles and also gives you an overview about the "real" needs.
