TOPIC: Integration with VirtueMart?

I am looking at moving an existing Australian site from manual event registration and sale of CDs and DVDs into online registration and online sales of products. I have no experience with payment gateways.

I would like the user to be able to add both CDs etc and their registration at an event into the one cart before checking out. Having both in the same cart is not essential but nice to have. Having a common UI for the cart (ie. the same experience purchasing CDs and events is close to essential).

VM is an obvious choice for sales of CDs and supports a couple of Australian payment gateways.

I have been looking at DTRegister (JEvents) but they do not provide what I need for the payment gateway.

I had the idea that a plugin (I guess?) could be created to process the registration AND put something into the VM cart at the same time. Perhaps it would create a dummy product in VM as part of this process??

There is no need for anything that cancels the sale or registration - this would be done by humans if required (as would tracking of limits at the event).

I am looking at someone creating this plugin / module in collaboration with me. If you think you have the skills please let me know and we can discuss payment terms. I would like to donate the resulting widget(s) to the community as I see there are a large number of DT prospects who are put off what seems to be a great product (DT Register) by the lack of more payment gateways.

I'm interested. Have you got any word on a VirtueMart integration with DTRegister?

We have no plans to ever integrate with Virtuemart. We are adding other payment gateways directly to DT Register... looking at some now and will be trying to get numerous additional options added ASAP.
