The limited uses on custom fields is awesome, thanks for adding it.
It'd be even better if we had an option to make a specific field share its user tally amongst all events in the system.
Here's the scenario this would address: My organization has members, non-members, students and retirees, and each has their own costs and access to different limited-capacity workshops. There are tons of variables...20 workshops, 6 meals, 5 combinations of single-day registrations, meal-only attendees, etc...too much for one event registration to handle. If I could just make different events, one for each kind of user, I can do it with ease. Problem is, the "pool" of workshop attendees resets with each event, so I'd quadruple-book them. If I could make the same pool of limited users apply across all of the events I make, then I'd be set.
Another scenario: One building, three different events going at the same time. The three events are unrelated, with different attendees and programs, but each shares the same lunch area (and a limited number of sandwiches). With this new feature, we could make a custom sandwich field, and all three events can pull from the same limited-quantity pool of sandwiches.
