TOPIC: Various stuff to think about

Hello all,

I am very new to using DTregister. The last few days I have spend quite some time configuring it.
Before we were on an older Joomla version and we were using some other registration module (Seminar).
Since Seminar was not available for Joomla 2.5, we had to look for something different.
This turned out to be DTregister. It seems like it has all the options we need but we have a few RFC's as well
Since I am very new, I hope I haven't overlooked some options or double post already posted RFC's by others...


What I would like to see added to the wishlist:
1. possibility to have only registrants to an event see the attendees (not public, not registered (site), not admin only)
2. possibility for the creator of the event to either upload an image for the event (current) or to select an image from the images-/eventpics folder?

We work with a pay later construction. Once you register for an event, you pay the fee to the contactperson by banktransfer (info given in confirmation mail).
The contact person checks the bankaccount for the payment and edits the [Records] in DTregister (Front End).
Waiting List is enabled. Cancelation is off.
3. is it possible when [PAID] is changed to {True}, the [Status] is changed automatically from {pending} to {active}?
3a. if not, is it possible to select various records and change [Status] from {pending} to {active} in a batch?
4. is it possible to select various records and change [PAID] from {False} to {True} in a batch?

The registrant checks his status on the events he registered for in the User Panel.
Once the record of the event is visible in the User Panel, registration has been succesful.
Since we work with Pay Later option, the [payments] column has no info.
For the registrants it is unclear what the status is.
5. is it possible to have a (customisable?) text like 'to be confirmed' in the [Payments] column when using Pay Later option?
6. is it possible to have the text PAID in the [Payments] column when the moderator changes [PAID] to {True}? (I know you can use the filter but it is unclear)
7. is it possible to have the [Status] in the User Panel? So registrants can see if they are Active/Pending/Waiting?
7a. is it possible to for the registrants on the Waiting List to know what number they have in the queue?

Apart from that we would like to style DTregister so that it fits the website well (currently using standard template beez5)
8. is it possible to change the layout (what columns, width of columns, fonts used, fontsize, font color, alignment, images for buttons) in the Back End? This applies to Eventlist, Calendar, mini-Calendar, Attendeeslist, User Panel, etc.

9. is it possible to have some sort of mini-status for a special or next event? (# registrants, # paid, # pending, # places available)?
10. is it possible to have a mini-countdown until special/next event?

11. very low priority: wouldn't it be nice to create the possibility of reserving a seat/seats (create seatplan, reserve a seat as an individual, reserve seats as a group)?

In General
12. is it possible to give some sort of ETA for the next release?
13. is it possible what RFC's and bugfixes will be in the next release and which ones we will have to wait for a little longer?

All comments in this thread are considered, but I wanted to comment on some here now...

First, welcome to a full meal deal registration system! Seminar was nice in 1.5, but VERY basic. Doesn't have a fraction of what you now have at your disposal

- option to upload images for events already exists. Option to select from already uploaded images is coming.

- status change is already automatic when a user makes the payment online in the frontend user panel for a previously "pay later" registration. When an admin is making the change, it's not automatic. That will come too.

- you can select multiple records and mark them as a batch as attended, but not as paid.

- you can hide the payments column of the user panel in configuration if you do not need it. Of course it's possible for it to display something different than what it already does if you modify code as needed

- status can be seen in the user panel. Go to Configuration -> User Panel tab

- the waiting list doesn't really have a numbering so there is no queue number to show at this time.

- font / link styling comes from your template. You can add specific styling to DT Register pages in this CSS file:
/components/com_dtregister/assets/css/main.css

Width of some columns can be specified in Configuration -> Event Listing tab.

Buttons come in 8 different colors, also set in configuration.

- Event list views (and calendar info popups) can display # registered, space available and capacity.

- you can load a seatplan image using a textual field. It would not be interactive, but display options. Then use selection fields for the user to select from seat options. Use selection limits to make sure each seat option is only able to be selected by one registrant.

- We generally do not post dates for upcoming releases, however new updates are usually released every 1-2 months. Watch our news feed, announcement category of the forum, and follow on Facebook, Twitter and Google+. Easy to stay informed. Any big update is also sent out on email newsletter to all users.

- New release announcements always include a detailed list of what was added, fixed, etc.

- Generally do not post a list of features coming although some are occasionally discussed in the forum. Any bug fix is quickly addressed and then made available in a minor update... like 2.8.2 to 2.8.2a. Those are posted in the announcements forum and social pages.

You should watch some of our video tutorials. A few of these questions would have been answered there. They are a big help, even the ones that are older. Link to video page on YouTube is found in the DT Reg control panel.

Hi, thanks for your time and answer.

Found the status field in the User Panel and the various colors for the buttons. Thanks for that.
In the mean time I will wait what next releases bring and see in a couple of months if I have the courage to start editing CSS files
