DTH Developers - Any view/ comment on this? I know it's a huge change - but this continues to be my biggest issue and annoyance with DT Reg by far and would be a huge advancement if it could get tackled... Custom fields just spiral out of control and become very hard to manage easily on big and busy sites with many different registration types....

Adding to my frustration (and resurfacing my need for this) is the fact I have some glitch in the system which seems to add new fields that I create to other existing events when I don't want that to happen - still trying to understand this issue more before I formally report it....

Hi Guys,

First time poster, long time lurker on these boards. I think an easier way to perhaps solve this issue it just categorise fields.

EDIT: Something is needed, i just have done two major events with over 50 fields each. Very sophisticated forms. Great script though!

Example:
Have a system wide category - General
Then custom categories for all others.

Within creating a new field just have category option. If someone wishes to have this in multiple cats, then they can either put it in the GENERAL where the fields will show up on all events or Duplicate the field and just select another cat.

Within the Events panel and under fields, it shows all fields by default within the GENERAL category and an option to show another categories field.

Now categories may not be the right word, when I say categories i really mean Events for a particular field.

Thanks.

Please make this happen, culling fields gets old!

Also, it'd be nice to know which fields are being used in an active or archived event, so you can know to cut them or keep them.
