Hi, as I have always had the need to use both paypal and pay later-payments, I have a long time longed for a more intuitive info sequence to the end user:
- Someone decides to pay now and choses on-line-payment, does the payment, gets a thanks message on the screen and a thanks message with needed details in a mail: Great!
- Someone decides to pay later, gets a pay later message on the screen and the SAME thanks-message as the pay now-payers above: Not so great!
The on-screen pay later message is now the only place to place info about how to pay later without making those that already paid on-line get a lot of extra and confusing information. And that pay-later message on the screen is not a good place to tell anything important, as it is only there once and then gone. In my opinion, the one who pays later shoud get the following (should work great for most of us):
a) when chosen to pay later, user gets a on-screen thank you-message with info that a mail will be sent with payment info.
b) a payment info email is sent automatically, and the payment status is put to pending
c) when admin has seen that the payment has been made, he changes the status from pending to active, which causes a thank you/confirmation email to be sent to the registrant, this could very well be the same as the pay now-thank you email as now the person is registered and active.
Of course, very good if every pay-later method could have its own payment info mail but we shan't be fuzzy shall we
Cheers Ben
