TOPIC: Discount codes - BoGo

What is the best way to set up discount codes for the following?

Buy one get one free

and

Buy one get the 2nd for 50% off

There isn't a rock solid way of accomplishing this. Really the only way would be:

- create a 50% off code (or whatever the discount)
- assign that code to all or appropriate events
- put in the thank you email a section telling about the code they can use to register for another event and provide the code.

You'd want to give expiration dates on codes like this for sure... to help eliminate the ability for them to get passed around and used a lot or repeatedly. There is no way to make the code valid only if you registered for another event already.

How do you do this in the cart? If they sign up for two classes at check out I want to offer them a 20% discount for paying for both classes at the same time.

You can't really accomplish this with items in the cart... not at this time.
