Are there any basic, step-by-step written instructions for getting up and running with DT Register?
For example, how to get a listing of Events showing in an Article in Joomla, or in the main body of a page. Then, how to implement the Cart, where several Events can be paid for in one go.
I have jumped around the video tutorials, spending a lot of frustrating time getting nowhere.
I am an IT consultant who accepted a quick and urgent job for a client to implement a conference registration facility for them, with the big plus being the payment integration. I read the splurb and recommended that they purchase. I am now facing DEEP embarrassment as I am not managing to get their registrations up and running (it does not help that the "Upcoming Events" module is crashing - have logged a ticket, but no response yet).

I'm not part of technical support but I can answer some of your questions. (I've used the system for a few years)

1. To create a listing of events, create a menu item and select DT Register>List of Events and then select your categories.

2. You can not put a listing in an article but you can put a button to a specific event in an article. Make sure that you have installed the DTEventLink plugin first and it's activated.

3. To charge for a particular event, create the event and then on the second tab, select payment type and then place the amount for that event at the bottom for Individual charge. If you have not setup a payment account, go to the control panel and select Pay Option and create a payment type. It's pretty straight forward once you select it.

4. As far as the Upcoming Events crashing, you will have to get support for that. Make sure that you have installed the latest version of DT Register and also make sure that you have selected the right categories and that you are selecting the right module to publish it in.

I hope that this helps. If you would like to know more, write me back in here and I will try to help you. I know how it feels to have a rush project while trying to use a new product.

Hello. Sorry that you are having a hard time getting things up and rolling. Let me answer your main points here:

1) You can not display the list of events inside of an article. Create a Joomla menu item for DT Register -> List of Events. That is the events listing display. The Event Listing tab of configuration has many options to tweak that display.

2) You can assign any article to be the "Details Article" for an event. Select within the event setup and enable the details button towards the bottom of the first tab. Then enable the EventLink plugin and a Register button will show automatically in that article to take a user to registration from the article. This is not required... just an option.

3) For the cart functionality, make sure the cart module is enabled. In configuration, enable the "Multiple Event Cart Option" on the first tab.

4) The recent Joomla changes created many issues, almost all of which have been addressed. Make sure you have the latest build, which is 3.1.6c. The upcoming events module DOES have an issue since these changes. It's one of the last minor items remaining. Another update will be available shortly. However, for now, note that the module loads fine if you do not select any categories in the module setup. Allow it to display all events and it will be fine. Sorry that your ticket for that hasn't been handled yet. Like I said, many issues came to the table out of nowhere when Joomla made their changes. We had to prioritize those issues and address them accordingly, which we've been doing with regular updates.

Thanks and let us know if you need further assistance!
