I'm embarrassed to ask this because just last week I came across this problem on another site and fixed it, but I can't remember what I did!

I have the latest Joomla 3.4.8, the latest DT Register 3.1.16a, and have been installing and configuring Akeeba Admin Tools on some of my sites - I thought the solution was in the .htaccess exceptions list, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Does anyone know offhand what the solution was to get the Captcha image to display on event registration?

Thank you,

Ernie

Ernie,
did you have any luck figuring this out? I was testing for an event and have the same issue. I'm up to date on everything with DTregister V3.1.6c and Joomla 3.4.8. Checked and saved the configuration and permissions under DTR just in case. Still no joy.

Thanks for your response,

john

No, I haven't. I just disabled the feature in configuration. But now I risk getting bogus signups.

I haven't had time to return to the subject yet. I hope to spend some time on security updates on my web sites this weekend and will probably encounter it again.

Two part "fix" that I found.
1) In the captchasecurityimages.php on line 214 there is an "echo" tag. Remove this tag. The whole line is "echo $code = $this->generateCode($characters);"

2) if the image is still not showing (fixed it for my site) then, if you have it, check your .htaccess file. I found in my development site a line that did took all php extension requests and wrote them to the index.php file. I just added allowing the captcha file, but I do not know if this would count as secure or not?

Hope this helps,
