Hi,

Whenever I click on event details button or the event title in upcoming events the events detail page opens in the mainbody of the front page of the site.

I would like to change this to open on a new page. Please advise

This is probably just an ItemID issue. Your URL probably doesn't have an ItemID in it... and your template probably has a default setting or which menu item (ItemID) to use when one isn't in the URL... and that default is your home page.

Make sure you have a menu item for DT Register -> List of Events. Even if it's not used anywhere, make sure it exists. Just having that usually resolves this type of thing.

Thanks your reply.

However I do have a menu item list of events and when I click the menu the page opens properly. However when I click the details button on the event the page opens in my home page main body!

You can check it on www.riscinstitute.com

Any ideas?

Okay, try this please...

1) Create a category blog menu item for the category that your detail articles are found in. This doesn't have to be seen anywhere, just exist. Maybe in a "Hidden Menu" or something. Having this helps, especially when SEF is being used. That is the Itemid that the details links try to use... and your upcoming events module is set to go to the details article also, so that is looking for the same thing.

2) If that alone doesn't solve it, then (if you are using a 3rd party SEF component), delete all of the URLs that have been auto-generated for the details articles and allow them to be re-created... hopefully now including the ItemID from the new menu item.
