I change the DT language file at Public_html/language/en_GB/n-GB.com_dtregister.ini to change the labels, but everytime I install the update for DT Register, i wipes my language file. Is there an overide option. I do see an overrides folder in my Public_html/language/en_GB/overrides but how does it work.

Do I need to change something in the config of DT register?

Thanks

Yes, as with any component, reinstalling / upgrading will replace all of the files, which includes language files. This is mentioned in our readme file actually.

Joomla 3 does support language file overrides and this is a great way to not have to worry about losing your changes! Simply create a text file named en-GB.override.ini and place the file in:
/language/overrides/

Copy any language strings from the DT Register language file that you have modified... or from any other components too... then paste them into this override file. Joomla will read those in place of the original language file. So next time you upgrade DT Register and you have default language tags in place again... your override file will keep your changes active!
