Is there a way to exclude an event from the event listing? In older versions I would create an event and provide a link to the registration but would not publish the event. By doing this only people who had the link could register for the event. This came in handy for designing and testing a new registration and also for private events for non-members to register without a password.
The current version of DT Register does not allow registrations if an event is not published (understandable).
Yes, that was a loophole that was fixed some time ago.
What you need to do is utilize categories. Make a category that is for these "private" events. If you set it with an access level specific to particular logged in user types, the event will only show if the user is logged in with appropriate access.
Or if you're not using log ins... you'd still do the categories, but instead of making a general list of events menu item, you'd make a category listing... and select all of the categories EXCEPT your "private" category. Then you'll have other private events that don't show unless someone is giving a direct link to them.
