I have several grades listed for this summer camp on my registration.
Some of the grades have filled up so I wanted to remove those options from the drop down list.
I am doing a partial payment system so users keep logging back into the site and paying.
I want to make sure that removing that entry from the list will not mess up the people that have already selected it once they log into the site and make future payments.
I figure that if they try to click the drop down it will be an issue but if they just login and pay will it affect the payment or the records CSV export option - is that data already written to the record and having it missing now from the drop down will it be an issue?
Do NOT ever remove options from a selection field in the middle of registration. If you remove options... or change the order at all... it will affect all existing registrations.
Besides... it's not necessary to remove an option. That is what the selection limits feature is for. You should have a selection limit set for each option. "0" means the option has no limit, but set a limit for each option and once the limit is hit for that event, the value will display, but NOT be selectable. Watch our video tutorial on selection fields if you need more help with that.
After making changes like this, you should re-save the event to make sure everything is fully applied.

Remove entry in drop down list for people that have already selected it - Issues?

THANK YOU SO MUCH.
I always saw that field but didn't realize that is what is was for. I thought that it was more an entry limit than how many people could select it.
That is awesome.
I exported out all my registrations and then counted up the number of Pre-Teens signed up and then entered that number for that entry and walla it doesn't allow anyone to select that value. So it starts counting from the beginning of the event even if you had zeros - that is awesome.
I have been a huge fan of DT Reg for several years. Thanks for continuing to produce such a great product.
