TOPIC: [SOLVED] CSV function is not working

[SOLVED] CSV function is not working 10 years 7 months ago #23137

We have the latest addition and it is running on Joomla 3.2.3 and when you go to the CSV export function it doesn't do anything. If you select check all then click next it asks you to click OK to continue but when you select it, the message box disappears and after a search for any CAV files I can't find it.

Do you see anything happen with the progress bar onscreen?

Latest addition... please verify, does it show "3.0.8a"? That is the latest and what you need as there WAS an issue with the export that affected a small number of users that was resolved in the "a" update.

The file should store to wherever your browser puts downloaded files. Make sure you search for "CSV"... not "CAV". I'm sure that was a typo, but just making sure. The filename would be "BackupList_Registrations.csv"... or if that file was already there from a previous export, it could be something like "BackupList_Registrations (1).csv".

If you do have 3.0.8a and still believe you have an issue, submit a ticket please.

I just wrote a ticket about this. I have joomla 3.2.3 and DT Register 3.0.8a. I can see progress in the bar on the export page, but then it stops and never finishes - thus, never creates the file.

I'm having the exact same problem and my software is up to date. I am integrating with Community Builder, does that maybe have soothing to do with it?

DTH told me my execute time wasn't enough. I increased it beyond what they recommended and it still didn't work. I had to use my last export and manually add all the data! I noticed that the export quit working when I go to about 275 registrants. So...on another entity, I proactively created another event when the first event got up to about 275 registrations. This kept the file from getting so large the export wouldn't work, but I had to combine the two export files.

This problem, combined with problems communicating with PayPal, member data being lost from group registrations, confirmation emails not being sent, etc... are just some of the reasons I will no longer use DT Register after this year. This was my fourth year to use it. DTH replied to my tickets, but NONE of their suggestions worked. I just can't risk it again.

Good luck.

Regarding Becky's comment... yes we've helped her in many tickets... but her tickets show no further replies stating she still needed help, so this post was news to us. I answer in her ticket about this.

Becky - you created a separate event to split things, when all you needed to do was use the data selection in the CSV export... and export records from Date X to Date Y... so it's a smaller piece. Then do another export from Date Y through Date Z. Anyway...

Since recent updates, the number of sites that have still had this issue can be counted on one hand. Then looking further, we found that the recent change was made to the Joomla 2.5 version only. The 3.x version had not been modified for this. We'll do that for the next package update for sure, but for now you can do it yourself easily.

Go to this file:

/administrator/components/com_dtregister/models/export.php

Find this:

public static $limit = 4;

Change it to:

public static $limit = 20;

Increasing the limit set towards the top of that file. Increasing it should help to get things rolling for your site/configuration. Thanks!
