I have never had this notice enabled in prior versions and I don't ever recall status change emails being sent.
I've just upgraded my site to Joomla 3.2.3 and DT Register 3.08 and even though "Status Change Email Notice" (under configuration/email) is NOT enabled, emails are being sent when I, say, change a record status from pending to active.
Am I missing something or is this a bug?
It's also a bit annoying that when the system does send an email there's actually no record/register/log of it being sent.
I had a client send me a heap of emails that my system had sent them when I was doing some development work. I was oblivious to what the system was doing without my knowledge - particularly when I thought a setting was disabled.
We have fixed this issue and just updated the DT Register package. So download and reinstall and you'll be good. If you already have 3.0.8 installed, you could just update this file from the newly updated package:
