I've been upgrading J1.5 sites to 3.2.x, and so far, none of the sites (five, so far) are showing the map properly - they all point to the ocean near Ghana.

I checked the locations and the addresses are all good (they displayed on the map was accurate), but I noticed that the Lat/Long elements are empty, and are not populated when I save the Location. I tried editing the Location and saving it, but no matter what I do, the pop-up map just shows the ocean.

When I click on Get Directions, the Google map page shows the right place.

Joomla 3.2.1
DT Register 3.0.6a

Note that I have a "clean" site (not an upgrade), that's under construction using Joomla 3.1.5 and DT Register 3.0.3. It's displaying the map correctly.

Is it possible that there's a problem with Locations that were upgraded from Joomla 1.5? I followed every step in the ReadMe for upgrading DT Register from a Joomla 1.5 installation.

As a test, I created a new location, and it populated Lat/Long as soon as I entered the ZIP Code. I won't have to re-create each location, will I?

One last thing: When I created a new location, I tried to delete the original (because it was a duplicate). I got the following: "DT_LOCATION_DELETE_WARNING". I assume that's a warning to tell me that the Location is in use for an event, but it's not showing that message, just the above.

Update: For anyone else experiencing this, I found a workaround: Choose the Location to edit, select and remove the ZIP Code (Ctrl+x) and tab out of the field. Go back to the field and paste the ZIP Code back in (Ctrl+v), and tab out of the field. The Lat/Long will populate, and the map will display correctly.

Thanks,

Ernie

Ernie, this has been discussed in previous tickets with you. There is not (and has not been for a very long time) a problem with latitude/longitude population for locations. In your migrated data, yes, because you have to re-save each location. You can't just open and re-save, but do as you said in your "workaround". As you tab through the settings of the location, it will auto-populate the lat/long once it has the zip code.

Old locations migrated in that were created before the lat/long were generated in DT Reg will all need this done. The reason we added the lat/long was for this exact reason... some addresses didn't map correctly without it.

So nothing to fix here... just some re-saving work for you on your end. :)

Also, you are correct in your assumption about the location not deleting. You can't delete a location if it's assigned to any event... even an old event. The missing language tag has been addressed too. You just have an old version in place. Thanks!

I don't have a record of posting specifically on the Lat/Long issue, but I've gone into the last four sites I've upgraded and tabbed through each location as you said, and it's now resolved.

I was using the most recent versions of DT Register in both cases. I see that you have since replaced 3.0.6a with 3.0.7, so I'm using that now.

Thanks,

Ernie
