My records must stay in the "Pending" status until manually approved by an administrator. Unfortunately, if someone edits their record, it's switched over to "Approved". All default settings for records is set to "Pending". Is there a way to fix this or prevent it from happening?

Plan "B" would be... is there a way to add an additional status? The only options right now are "Waiting List, Canceled, Approved, and Pending". If I could figure which files to edit, I could add an additional status. This would be an acceptable work-around for now.

Well I figured out a pretty ghetto way to make it work, I just switched the labels on the tags in the en-GB.com_dtregister.ini file in /administrator/language. Since it wants to switch back to "Approved".

DT_ACTIVE is now "Pending", and DT_PENDING is now "Approved".

By default, new records are now DT_ACTIVE="PENDING", so when it "swtches" to DT_ACTIVE when records are edited on the front-end, the status stays "Pending" and the user is none the wiser.

You can not add another status... and change the labels is a good option, not a ghetto one. :)

However, statuses will not change simply due to a record being edited. If a user makes a payment on their record, that CAN change the status.

There are three points of status setting in configuration... fully paid, partially paid, and pay later registrations. You probably just need to modify these settings because if something in the record changes to where it moves from one of these three points to another, the status can change.

How do you add another status? Which files would I need to edit? I think I can figure it out from there, I'm just not sure which file(s).

There are no charges for the courses, I think that May be what is throwing the system.

As stated, you can't add another status. It's not as simple as modifying a file or two. Record statuses are referenced and used all over the place. You'll need to just play with the config options for status assignments and also modify the language file if needed.
