Hi,

I am a new user using v.2.8.9a. I have created some events and on the events tab in DT Register I can see a list of events in a dropdown list including events I have created in JEvents and in DTRegister. But when the dropdown is on select no events are listed and it says no events are set up for registration. When I create a menu item for a DT Events list no items show up. But in the latest events module they do show up. What am I missing and is it necessary to use JEvents in this version of DT Register.

Thanks,

Luciano

Hello. The NEED for JEvents was removed from DT Register a LONG time ago. 2-3 years ago actually. You can still sync with it if you want, but it's recommended to not use JEvents in the mix unless you need it for some other reason.

If the component is not showing any events, it's likely due to category settings. Make sure your categories are set with an access level of "Public" if you want anyone to see it without logging in. Of course, make sure the category is published... and your events are published.

Is your menu item a "List of Events" item? That will show all events. Also, by default, it will not show past events unless you set configuration to still show them.

Nathan,

Thanks very much for your reply. Now that I got JEvents out of the way everything seems to be working pretty well with one exception. I created a new event, experimented with some different menu item types etc.; some different views and so forth. All working well. I signed up for the event and my registration appears in the records. But the email acknowledging the registration doesn't seem to arrive. Any thoughts you have on that would be welcome. I checked Spam filters etc.

I am also pouring over your fine selection of videos. I assume that the 2.7 videos apply to the 2.8 version.

All the best,

Luciano

Most of the videos are dated, but still will be helpful.

If you are not seeing any emails be delivered (to registrant or admin), then it's almost positively an issue with your Joomla mail configuration. Check there. Also, in DT Register configuration on the email tab, make sure that you have provided a "From Name" and "From Email". The email won't work without that.

Btw, a good way to check your Joomla mail configuration is to use the core Joomla contacts component, which can setup a contact form. See if you receive the emails generated from that.

This is absolutely correct. I checked settings on the current site and I need to match those settings on the development site.

Support for this extension is A+ Thank.
