I have an event which has PayPal or Pay Later payment options. For the current event, about 15 - 20 extra records are being generated with the same Event confirmation number.
I've just received this advice from PayPal (not Pro):
"Please check your server that handles PayPal Instant Payment Notifications (IPN). IPNs sent to the following URL(s) are failing:
If you do not recognize this URL, you may be using a service provider that is using IPN on your behalf. Please contact your service provider with the above information. If this problem continues, IPNs may be disabled for your account.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this issue."
I'm not sure where the problem lies. I've had multiple records before but not for all event registrations. I've contacted our website server host also but have not received help from there.
I have had the 'Duplicate Registration Prevention:' set to YES in both Global and for the particular event configuration settings. I have just changed these settings to NO but am not sure if this will affect the problem.
Hello. First, I see that your license is expired so you do not actually qualify for tech support. I'll give you instruction though...
Second, I assume you are probably using an old version of DT Register, which could partially be your problem. You'll need an active license to get updates.
Third, the main part of the problem is PayPal IPN is failing. You need to check:
- IPN is enabled in PayPal account
- Auto-Return is OFF in the PayPal account
- Permissions are correct on your site from the top level directory on down, 755 for directories and 644 for files
- No additional security elements in .htaccess file or other places that could be restricting IPN from accessing certain DT Register files.
