TOPIC: Migrate 2.7 from one site to another with 2.8

Hello,

I want to migrate my DT Register 2.6 installation in Joomla 1.5 to a 2.8 installation in Joomla 2.5. My understanding is that I would have to first update 2.6 to 2.7 in Joomla 1.5. So that was my first question.

Once that is done can use PHPMyAdmin to export the database tables from my 1.5 installation and then import them into my database for the 2.5 installation and then install 2.8.

Do I understand that you are wanting to combine DT Register data from one site with DT Reg data on another site? Regardless of versions, that is NOT possible. You'd have a big collection of conflicting ID numbers and who knows what else.

You can migrate you Joomla 1.5 data into a Joomla 2.5 site... yes, but only using the data from the 1.5 site. No existing 2.5 data could be combined with the migrated data.

No, the 2.8 installation on the new site is a clean install. I just want to bring the data over from the 1.5 site running DTR 2.6

That's good. First, uninstall DT Register on the 2.5 site and then manually drop all DT Register database tables from the 2.5 database. This is very important.

Then get the 1.5 site updated to the current build. Then you'll export data to pull into the 2.5 database BEFORE you install DT Register there. The package contains full 1.5 -> 2.5 migration instructions so you can get more details there. Thanks!
