I might be glossing right over it, but I cannot figure out how to create an event for the DT Calendar that does not have the "register" button feature. Do ALL events have that button?

DT Support responded to my question in a ticket I have open, so I'll report thier response here in the hope it may help others.

I was told just set the "Registration Open Date" to sometime in the future, past the date of the actual event. This does work, however it's a work-around. Personally, I'd rather see a button in the event setup that could turn the registration button on/off altogether.

Yeah but if you do this method, the CLOSED button appears on the event listins page, which actualy deters people from going to the event, when actually the event is still open, but you just don't want to offer online registration.

Any chance DT register will work more like Jevents, where you can post important dates that don't need online registration. I like the DT calendar but just need to post a few non registration events.

Thanks

southpaw - you are incorrect. If you set the Cut-Off Date, then you'll get the CLOSED button. Leave that setting alone... and just do as james already said... set the OPEN date to a future date. Registration will never be active... so it can also never close since it never opens to begin with.

This is not a work-around... it's how it works... and this works just fine. Adding a button or separate setting would be nice, although a tad redundant. Eventually, probably. But there are bigger fish to fry at the moment considering what that new button would do is already able to be done already.
