I know, that DT-Register has some drawbacks, but what would be an alternative for a german customer who needs an event booking system for Joomla! which is cheap?
If I would order a customized event booking system for our site from a web-developer, I would have to pay thousands of Euros for it.
Btw: In the last weeks, I did spent many hours to add missing translations to the german language file of DT-Register, but all other event-booking systems I looked for, don't even have a german translation file.
And there's no big choice if you're looking for an event booking system "which claims to be multilingual" in the extensions directory...
I also changed some of the php and javacript code of the component, because there is missing support for SEF-URL's in frontend event management. I have horror when next update with bugfixes for DT-Register 2.8.3 comes! That will override all my changes... Hope, that DTH-Development will tell me exactly, in which files changes were made.
But: If I would find a serious bug in DT-Register, I would make a ticket of it!
Hi,
we are using DT Register for years now. The product continuously improved. Right now it is a full blown working solution – no alternative (at least for us) on the market.
With regards to the German translation: the translation is around 90% complete, just help files missing. With the last release Nathan removed an already fixed version (which has translation errors) as he thought the version was personalised – which it was not. An updated version of the language file will be going to Nathan this week again. If you do have translation suggestion please email them to the address given in the beginning of the language file. As I help out on the german translation I can incorporate these changes.
Any other translation in other files (there are some language strings that are not to find in the two language files) that are related to the backend, there is nothing I can do to help.
With regards to support: In all these years I have seen everything – from tremendous speed to slowness. It seems to come in phases, however I tend to see the upside of DT Register and not the support issue. Tickets generally seem to be answered regularly. The forum “it depends” on the powers to be…
All the best,
Matthias
