TOPIC: validation of e-mail adress in contact formular

Hello,

i would be glad , if DTH-Development staff could tell me, in which file I could add javascript or php-code to validate the e-mail address which the customer must enter in the contact form.

For online payment this would not be required - but since we have customers who have only the pay later option, a validation of the e-mail adress of this customers would be appreciated. (we don't like spam)

Hi all,

while waiting for an answer from the forum, i was able to add some code to the contact form of DT-Register (I use version 2.8.3) in /components/com_dtregister/controllers/validate.php which at least checks, if there are bad characters in the email and validates also the MX-Domain of the sender. The code seems to work on my home server. Wanna have it?

Wondering, if there is a way to check if the email address of the sender itself is valid. I'm looking also for a way to block specific ip-addresses from sending us emails using the contact form of DT-Register.

I know, my problem would't exist if we could enable online payment for all events, but we have some old-fashioned association members, which hate to fill out contact forms and don't want to accept that online payment is an easy and fast way to pay for event booking...
