Hi!

I am using DT Register 2.8.2a with Joomla 2.5.6. I want to create a profile in Joomla that allows a user to log in to the backend and have full access to viewing and editing DT Register registration records ONLY. I do not want them to have access to any other part of the Joomla backend or to editing anything else (events, locations, etc.) in DT Register. I have been playing around with this and searching for info on the forum and elsewhere online, but I haven't been able to get it. It seems like I could use the DT Register permissions settings to restrict editing of other things, but I have been unable to locate the Joomla options for the component in order to set access to the component itself.

Anyhow, DT Register is working very well for us, and I'm trying to maximize its usefulness for us by setting this up. I'd really appreciate your assistance with this. Thanks!

Luke,

Have your tried going to the Joomla Extension Manager? There you can:
- Click on the "Manage" tab
- Click the box next to the DT Register entry there
- Back at the top right of the screen, click the icon for Options
- There you can set access levels to any groups that you have created or exist in Joomla's User Manager.

I haven't needed to do this, so I'm not sure if it will do what you are looking for. But, that is where you can find the location where you can set permissions for the component itself.

Hi jbannin -

Thanks for your helpful reply! I've had limited need to access those options in the past, and I've always relied in those cases on the options icon that appears at the top of the interface when working with many extensions. I appreciate your cluing me into this way of accessing these options. I've still got to play around with settings here, but this should do what I need. Thanks!
