I just upgraded to 2.8.2a from 2.8.2 because I haven't hard back on why my map scale is such that a location shows half a province.
After the upgrade, when I clicked on a location of an event in upcoming events - I got a map of the ocean - along the equator and just off Africa.

I went to DTRegister in the back end, and clicked locations. Nothing came up. Same for Pay options - nothing came up. All of my locations are available to me when I create an event - I just can't see them to edit them.

This happened to me as well under 2.8.2 ... I did not really need to show a map upfront so I just disabled it. I have not tried re-enabling under 2.8.2a. Just letting you know that I saw this behavior as well.

After update you will need to edit your locations as we added some much requested functionality surrounding location and radius searching. The following excerpt is taken from the upgrade announcement:

"New features for Location Management! Now each location has a latitude and longitude setting. This is auto-calculated as you create/edit a location, but you can manually change it as well. This is needed for the zip radius search to work, but also allows you to adjust the mapping location as shown in the frontend location details. ALSO, you can now set a Location Owner. This allows you to control what locations users can use for their events, as well as which locations they can manage. A location marked as "Global" can be used by any user. After upgrading, each location will need re-saved to make sure the lat/long is generated as well as an appropriate owner is selected for the location. The permissions matrix also no longer has "Create Location" and "Edit Location", but has just "Manage Locations". Be sure to verify and re-save permissions after updating."
