We have about 5 people in our skiclub that can edit events. I think someone is accidentally overlaying events when they go in to make edits. For example, we have an event 'Spain Trip Options', which has been fully configured with ski lift tix, etc, and then for some reason it 'disappears'. This seems to happen at the same time someone is creating a new trip. I THINK it's because the person starts to edit the Spain Trip Options to make a copy but accidentally just edits the event iteself and saves it with a different name. Are there any records written to find out who is touching what?

Also, any suggestions (other than copy+edit) to make backup copies until we get this (assumed) training issue is??

Thanks in advance....

There are no editing records kept... saving who made event changes and when. You can use the permissions structure of DT Register to say who can manage what events. Maybe you need to work with that a bit to control who can edit events once they are created. Set event owners appropriately.

Then if you want "backup" versions of events... you could copy them, however, any associated records will be connected only to the original event.

re: backup copies....

I'm not sure how to re-associate the records with the event they belong to...

Example:

Event "Red Ski Trip" has 5 people signed up.
We make a backup copy of it and call it "Red Ski Trip Backup".
Someone edits "Red Ski Trip", changes the dates/cost/ etc and just saves it as "Blue Ski Trip". 3 people sign up for "Blue Ski Trip".

What do I do to get Red Ski Trip back and reassociate the 5 people with it? Until I do that, will "Blue Ski Trip" show 8 people signed up? Or will Blue just show 3 people registered?

Are the registrants associated with the trip based on its event ID or its name?

Records are based on the event ID of course as names can and do sometimes change.
