TOPIC: Upcoming events, category link destination

Hi All,

I've just turned on the option in the Upcoming Events module to show the category as a link.
This is great as it takes you to a page showing the schedule/list of events in that category.
However, how do I add a menu or module to that page?

We use various menus for different sections of the site. I would like to show one on the page you arrive at after clicking the category link but I cannot figure out how.
The only menus or modules I can get on that page are if they are set to display on all pages, this is no good.

This is probably more a 'how to use Joomla!' question but not sure where else to ask.

Modules are assigned to menu items, as each has a unique ItemID. The category link from the upcoming events module does not have a unique ItemID. You CAN create a menu item to generate a list of events by category... then you can assign modules to that... but those ItemIDs will not be used by the category links in the module. We'll have to make some modifications there.

We've just been playing about with creating menu items that use the event list by category type. That's perfect because, as you say, you can assign modules and menus to menu items. If you can get the Upcoming Events mod to behave in a similar way that would be grand

I noticed that despite the fact you are using JRoute::_() on the category link in the upcoming events, it doesn't display a SEF URL.
It displays asIf I create a menu item of type Category List of Events the link generated is likeWhich then displays as a SEF link on our site...
I am learning about this as I go so that may not help
