Just upgraded a site from Joomla 1.5 to 2.5 and it's currently running DT Register 2.7.18. However, I've added a new DT Register user with all permissions... she is a Joomla Manager but when she logs in to the Joomla backend, she can't see DT Register (all Manager permissions in DT Register, except edit own event, are checked as well). If I switch her Joomla user status to Administrator, she can see DT Register, but I don't want her to be a Joomla Administrator, just a Manager.

Is this something that can be corrected if I upgrade to DT Register 2.8.1? And will upgrading break from 2.7.18 to 2.8.1 break DT Register functionality? I've had so much trouble with the upgrade from 1.5 to 2.5 already...

First, moving from 1.5 to 2.5 is a process simply due to the Joomla migration itself. Moving DT Register in the middle of that is not a huge deal when all of the steps are followed. Anyway, now that you are moved, upgrading to 2.8.1 (which is a given that you SHOULD do) will be simple. Just install the new version and all will be updated. See the upgrade instructions for some new permissions items and such to address.

Second, the issue you are speaking of has nothing to do with DT Register itself. The permissions matrix within DT Register has no controls on who can access the actual component... but who can access certain features within DT Register. The Joomla ACL is what is controlling your access to components. By default a Manager user does not have access to Components. So you'll have to work that out within Joomla ACL. Thanks.
