Dear Nathan, DTH Team,

thank you for all the great work. As the yearend is coming closer I would like to clarify one process question:

We use the coupons the following way: customers are purchasing "code blocks". This means, they receive a coupon code for e.g. 10 events. With the coupon they can attend for free.

Now: I know that if someone cancels an event, the coupon code block gets the code back. e.g. 8 left goes up to 9. This behaviour is correct and should be this way.

My question is: at the year end, we will archive or delete old not needed events anymore. What does happen with the used coupons? Will DTRegister recognise that the event has passed and the coupon has been used? Or will it delete the "usage" and add up the block code like in the cancellation? Needless to say, this would be a problem for us.

Wishlist item: it would be great to give the client in the frontend the ability to see how many coupons are left on the coupon code.

Thank you,
Matthias

Ps. working on the translation right now... stay tuned.

The code itself does not store a number of times the code was used. That count is made dynamically based on how many records are stored using that code. So say the code was used 10 times... then 4 of those records are deleted... then the code will only show as having been used 6 times.

So if you want the code to remain as used 10 times, you will need to ARCHIVE the events/records... instead of deleting them.

Regarding your wishlist item, as of 2.8.0, you can see the number of times a code was used and/or the limit within the frontend discount code management. Go in the backend to DT Register -> Configuration -> Frontend Mgmt tab and you'll see the ability to show/hide those two items.

Thank you Nathan for the update.

Last question: we have around 200 events a year with many records attached to it. Is the archiving process smart - meaning that it won't slow down the DTR when e.g. things are searched or other stuff is done? Do you see a number of events/records that could cause issues or should I just ignore that part... (e.g. 10.000 records etc.)

Thank you,
Matthias
