Hi,

I tried this evening to figure out the best configuration for my event, but it doesnt work right now as I want to.

Description:
We have a big event with about 100 sub-events. Registration is only necessary for the main event. The sub-events are limitated so I need the waitinglist and also the time management.

So I worked with categories (also to get different colors). The sub events are only aloud when the main event is booked. That seems to work. But now there is the first problem. When I book a sub-event I need to fill all fields again. In the configuration is an explanation, that I can use the joomla to fill the fields automaticly. But there only are "no" and "community builder".

So is it possible to registrate for the sub events without having any fields? Just click and youre in?

The other problem is the detail information. When I use it, the text opens normally without any back button or sthg. like that. Is it possible to open the detail text in a lightbox or to set a back button?

Thats it so far (i guess there will be more when the tests start).

I hope for your help. Thx.

First, the details article will have a Register button as well as a View All Events button (like a back button) when you install and enable our EventLink plugin. In the plugin parameters, you can set a few things.

Second, having 100 subevents as separate events seems like a lot. Are they running at the same time? On average, how many subevents will one user need? I'm wondering if this should be done using selection fields all within ONE event. It seems that would make sense. The only thing you'd lose would be the waiting list for each subevent. You could still limit how many people choose each subevent though.

You can't have a one-click automatic registration for any events. If you use the cart feature, the fields will auto-populate from other events in the cart. Outside of that, without using Community Builder or JomSocial, the only fields that will auto-populate will be name and email. You would select Community Builder in config to get that... which of course would only apply to logged in users.

Thanks for your fast answer.
I'll try it out and give a response. First of all I should install CB.

Now your idea for the events. Its one big event that runs 3 days. We will have about 500 visitors. They can register from now on, but the event is in 2014. So far we dont know times etc. of the events so its not possible to it all at one time and the waiting list feature seems to be very helpful. There will be 5-10 events at the same time and every visitor will have about 8-10 events during the whole weekend. Its a mix of seminars, visiting companies and fun. So far I thing 100 single events are better.
