Similar issue here - I've got the main records screen showing correct information, but for group registrations, when I click on "X# Members" it does not show me any of the members' information.

The firstname, lastname, and email fields are set to required, billing & members...

It has columns for "Discount Code" and "Attended" - shouldn't this be showing first, last, and email?

Solved my own issue - if you edit each field, there is a checkbox that says "Show in backend members list" - I turned this check box on for first, last, and email... now the data shows up for group members... great!

Did you not have any fields by default after install? You should have already had firstname, lastname, email and other basic contact fields. If they did not load for some reason on install... this would be the source of the issue."

I didn't have any of these after a fresh install to the latest flavor 2.8.2b. I did follow the directions posted and edited the names in the database. Worked like a charm; once I reread the part about all lowercase...
