As a newbie to Joomla and DTRegistration I am at a loss. I can't find in the manual where and how you place the registration form on a page. I assume you use a link or something, but I don't know what to put. If I missed this in the manual, please let me know where it is at.

You don't put it on an article page... it's a component so it IS it's own page. Go to create a menu item in the Joomla menu system. You'll see a section for DT Register with 6 different options. Create a link to a list of events, calendar view, etc.

Thank you for the reply.

What if I don't want the public to see the events list but go directly to the Registration Form from an article? Can I do that?

FYI, we only have one event each year.

I have an article that includes a link to the registration page, all you have to do is highlight the word you want to create the link for, then use the chain icon to link and input :

index.php?option=com_dtregister&view=event&layout=list&controller=event&task=events

That worked for me, hope this helps!

If you assign an article to the event as the "details article", and you have our EventLink plugin enabled, a Register button will automatically show at the bottom of the article. You can also manually place the registration link anywhere else in the article or other location in your site.

Yes, a manually created link will usually work too... but we definitely recommend using our plugin link as it will check the status of the event for capacity and such and make sure the user gets directed properly.

See this forum post for more instructions and details about our plugin:

You have all been helfpul, but I'm afraid there is something I'm missing.
I have read the information from the link and did everything I thought I was being told to do, but it did not work. So I must have some setting wrong or have missed some step that's seems obvious to some who is not quite as new at this as I am.Can anyone give me a step-by-step something like?:

1) Create an article
2) Required parameters for article are...
3) Add the link {dtregisterEDIT}ITEMID{/dtregisterEDIT}..... where you want the registration form button to appear.
4) Create a menu item
5) Required parameters for menu item are...
6) List any other required parameters like in the plug-in manager, global configuration, DTRegister Configuration, etc.

BTW, do I need the Upcoming Events module installed? I only have one event each year.

Thank you so much.
