1) I understand there's eight different color package options. Is there possibly a gallery of sites that have done some cool customization of look and feel of the calender to browse through? We'd also like to rearrange the placement of the fields a little. Is that possible?
There are a handful of sites in the Show & Tell area of this forum. The color options are just various colors for the buttons and icons. To rearrange the placement of default fields would take some code modification.
2) How many characters, or lines, are allowed for class description in the calendar page?
First, to clarify, DT Register gives a list of events similar to the example page you have given a link to. It integrates with JEvents which gives an actual calendar type view. If you don't need an actual calendar, then you don't have to show that. Neither JEvents or DT Register have a limit on the description size. I will answer questions based on DT Register. The JEvents calendar does not display any event registration details inside of the actual calendar... except for a Register button that comes from our plugin.
3) How customizable are the fields on the calendar page? Re. we have a capacity number for each class, but we also have a minimum number for each class. Will it be possible to make a field that states that information? This helps the registrants know if a class is going to make.
The listing of events can show the event capacity and also the # of currently registered people (if you want). You can't set a minimum for the class at this time. You could set new records to default as "Pending" though, then manually make them "Active" if you need to.
4) Is it possible to create a button or field that informs potential students that if a class is full, please call/contact the office? (We would like to close the customer service gap that often arises with this kind of automated registration.)
The "Register" button on the list of events will change to "FULL" when the capacity is reached. Then when that button is clicked, it will either show a message you configured OR a waiting list form... however you configured that event.
5) I’m assuming that we can limit the number of fields on the actual registration pages removing fields like country & title. Is that correct?
You have control over what fields are used, yes. You can also create as many custom fields as you would like.
6) I’m assuming that we can list the teacher name under each event. Can this be a link to their bio?
There is not a field for a Teacher for the event. You could include that in the description area. You can also create an article and assign it to the event in DT Reg... and enable a "Details" button. This would take users to a page giving full info on the event, instructor, whatever you want to provide. Then our plugin gives Register buttons at the bottom of the article. The Location link will open details of the location in a lightbox window including an embedded Google map if you want.
7) What are the costs of updates and new version downloads after the first year?
After the one year is up, you would just purchase a new license at the regular price. We may be implementing a slightly cheaper renewal price soon, but currently it is the same price.
