TOPIC: Do you have to install jevents?

Hello I am looking at purchasing this and would like to know if I have to install Jevents for this to work or if this will run all on its own.

Yes, JEvents is required. However no one has to see it on the frontend of your site if you do not want or need a calendar view. All that is required is to create your event in the backend of JEvents with a name, date/time. DT Register handles the rest.
