TOPIC: Question Before Purchase

I am a volunteer for a non profit organization that is holding our annual fundraiser. We would like to do online pre-registration and want to see if DT Register can do the following:

Multiple persons on one registration that will capture each persons name and t-shirt size.

Can parameters be set to not allow for certain words like "guest" and numbers?

If group reservation and each persons individual email address is entered, is the confirmation sent to all email addresses or just the main person who paid for the reservation?

Can a person who is not on the reservation pay for the reservation (through paypal). Ie...I want to purchase registration for my two sisters, but I will not be attending.

Can two people with the same name register? IE John Johnson?

Hello! Here are your answers:

- yes, you can do group registrations where each person's info will be captured. You can select which fields are presented to each group member, including your custom fields for data like T-Shirt sizes.

- you can not set your own parameters on any fields. Custom date fields will not accept anything except a date. Email fields check for a valid email format.

- currently only the main person of the group (billing contact) receives the confirmation email. However in 2.6 (coming out next week) has the option to also send to all members in the group.

- Yes, the billing contact is NOT considered one of the registrants.

- There is no check limiting people with the same name from registering. There IS a duplication check that you can enable if you want... but it checks by the email address, not the name.

Thanks for the quick reply. Just to confirm:

If we have multiple people on one registration. The person entering the information can include a second person and put Mikey Mouse or Guest Guest in the name field? There is no parameter that can be set to prevent certain words in the name field?

Correct, the name fields for group members have no validation on them. Using Community Builder integration, you can have auto-population of field data from the user profile for the group billing contact or for the individual registrant. With 2.6, you can do the same with JomSocial. Also you'll be able to make those fields "View Only" so the user is not able to change the data in the event registration form. It will come from the profile and stay as is. Regardless, none of that applies yet to each member of a group registration.
