TOPIC: Simple Q: Going from DT Reg 2.x to 3.x

Hi. Just wanted to check on upgrade procedure before I buy a new subscription....

I'm currently on 2.8.2b and want to move my site to Joomla 3. I've moved other sites to Joomla 3 so I'm fine with that process but I haven't done one with DT Reg before..... How should I do it.... Is it...

Uninstall 2.8.2b..... Upgrade site to Joomla 3.... Install DT Reg 3.0.3

...or something else - for example should I upgrade to latest 2.x first and then do the above?

Naturally I don't want to lose any of my existing events and data!

Andy, I see you had a ticket on this a while back that was already answered. The package has a readme file as it always has and gives step by step instructions. You do not have to uninstall DT Register.

First, upgrade 2.5 to the latest version of DT Register. Then migrate the site to 3.0. Then install the 3.0 version of DT Register on top of the existing install. No data will be lost or changed... only updated as needed.

Andy, just wanted to add to Nathan's comments. Joomla 3.x is in a dynamic state. So if there are changes to the core platform we are doing our best to stay on top of it for all clients on Joomla 3.x.
