TOPIC: Updating Joomla from 1.5.23 and DT Register -

Currently my Joomla 1.5.23 site ( http://www.appreciativeinquiry.net.au has
DT Register 2.7.5c. My former webmaster and host has given the game away and I am trying to learn how to do as much myself as I can.
I want to upgrade /update both (Joomla and DT Register) to the latest version and need to purchase the appropriate version of DT Register.
My question/difficulty is to do with data.

I am told that in the upgrade of Joomla (using Jupgrade) that 'the data in the upgrade process, will not be migrated'.
This is probably a naive question but I need to know whether I can somehow save the data (that I have in DT 2.7.5c) and import it into the new DT Register version (that I have yet to purchase) and how I do that.

While jupgrade will not do it for you, you most certainly can migrate your data. You need to first upgrade within joomla 1.5, then migrate that updated data. Full step-by-step instructions are in the in the readme file that you comes in the current package. Thanks!
