I deeply understand the situation and developing process for Joomla 1.6. My company relies on DT Register for it's website courses and registration process. We are in the process of upgrading and improving our website (including design), the only thing that is blocking us from doing it is DT Register and the lack of 1.6 Joomla Support. Our one year download of the component has expired, we are ready to pay another license, but I'm really doubtful to wether or not pay again if there is not going to be any updated version soon for Joomla 1.6 and if my company will continue stucked with the current website. It will be great if anybody can update us with at least a release date for a new version supporting Joomla 1.6 or an update for the last announcement about the topic near march-april 2011.

I can sound like repetitive like others asking the same and I understand that you've been working hard to make this done asap, but as a customer, we need an update about this, I'm starting to concern if there is still a continuous developing process for Joomla 1.6.

Thank you so much.

I totally share your frustration on this - although I know DTH do have it high on the agenda.... In my case there was no way I could wait for an 'unknown' and so my whole site is now J1.6 except for the registrations element which I maintain on the old J1.5 and route people back there to register...

It's very ugly, It's very messy - but it means I've been able to progress the rest of my site whilst still maintaining the awesome power of DT Reg - which I have no doubt, will eventually shine on J1.6 (or maybe 1.7 as I think that's out real soon now!)

But yes, a formal news update must be good - and I sense must be coming! I think the support team had 2 weeks off (or at least reduced capacity) lately so probably catching up on lots before the next big step forwards...

Yes, a 1.6 version is in development of course. We wouldn't consider NOT doing it. We hate that it's not out and ready yet, but that's the reality nonetheless. There have been many other things that have needed attention and lots of time that has continually delayed the 1.6 development.

We're finishing up some fixes and updates right now to the 1.5 package to put an update out shortly... then finishing 1.6 testing. Everyone wants updates and dates, but we have learned not to give a date unless we know it can for sure happen.

Getting the 1.6 version out is our priority. We're combing through it to find all issues and make sure it's ready to go. Lots of changes throughout so it just takes time to complete it all. Thanks for your patience.

I am in exactly the same situation.

I have held back my site from going to 1.6 because I didn't have a registration package for it. And my year has also ended - just.

So what to do? I have tested other registration s/w and have it up an running on a test site. I does everything I need except for handling e-mails well.

Since DT won't commit to a date for release - how long do I hope and pray that a new release is coming?
