TOPIC: Permanent Records and Parent/Child Registrations

This is for future consideration:

I run the website for a youth football program and I would like to have specific features for registering online and am wondering if this product provides this functionality.

I would like to have the ability to have a parent (for the actual parent(s)) account and a child account for each child, so the same parent information does not have to be entered for each child. Also, this should allow the parent to login and not have to re-enter their own information from session to session or from year to year. In other words, once you have registered for the first session, then you will only have to update changes in information going forward. Example: Bob Black (Parent) registers on the website. He has a son named John. Bob registers John as a child account under his account. Bob has another son and a daughter. Bob also registers them under his account. John and the other son can then register for Camp in the spring and the regular season in the fall, without having to input any additional information. The daughter only registers for Camp this spring, but she is registered for Camp next spring and the season, next fall. All without having to fill in the same information over and over: after Bob has registered himself and his children, he need only sign-in, select a child and a session to register for and he is done.

I hope this makes sense.

So, is this system capable of doing this or will all information have to be re-submitted for each child for each session?

Hello. There isn't a Joomla event registration solution that actually works in this manner. DT Register works with Community Builder or JomSocial for your "accounts". Registration form fields can be synced with profile fields so they auto-populate info. So whatever account you login to the site with, that is the one that sends data into the registration forms. You could technically have a login for each child, but there is no manner of having "sub-accounts" where you could just select a name and be done. Hope that helps.
